MEET JON
Hi, I’m Jon.
I help busy adults get unstuck.
I’m a Certified Practising Nutritionist (AARPN), but I came to clinical nutrition by a different route.
Before Fast Forward Nutrition, I spent more than three decades working across the food industry — from running restaurants and opening cafés to food manufacturing, grocery and foodservice. I’ve worked alongside the people developing, selling and positioning food, and seen how commercial decisions shape what appears on the shelf, what gets promoted and ultimately what ends up on our plates.
My approach is also shaped by lived experience of navigating my own health and nutrition challenges, alongside formal clinical training. Together, those experiences have given me three perspectives: your biology, the real life around it, and the food environment you’re trying to navigate.
Because nutrition doesn’t happen in a textbook. Your choices are shaped by your physiology, habits and circumstances — and an enormous amount of noise about what you should be doing. Ageing, hormonal change and changes in metabolic health can shift that picture over time too.
Fast Forward Nutrition isn’t about fast nutrition or quick fixes. It’s about getting through the noise, guesswork and self-doubt to work out what’s happening, what’s getting in the way and what needs attention first — then building a path forward that fits your health and your real life.
Fast forward the noise. Fast forward the self-doubt. Fast forward to you.
That same perspective shapes Real Life Nutrition with Jon, my weekly YouTube series unpacking supermarket specials, pricing, products, nutrition claims and trends — reducing the friction between knowing what to do and actually doing it, so better nutrition ends up on your fork.
Why Fast Forward Nutrition exists.
When the things that should work stop working.
I know what it feels like when your own health stops responding to the things you think should work.
My own experience changed the way I think about nutrition — and ultimately shaped why I created Fast Forward Nutrition.
This short video is the story behind the practice, and why I believe understanding what is happening comes before deciding what to change.
Through the FORWARD Method™, I bring that thinking into clinical practice — understanding the biological and real-life factors shaping appetite, food noise, energy and progress, then working out what needs attention first and turning that into practical structure built for real life.
WHY IT WORKS
Clarity before calories.
Structure creates freedom.
01
Understand what is driving the problem
You’ll understand what may be shaping your energy, appetite, cravings, and progress without being overwhelmed or talked down to.
02
Turn understanding into practical structure
Knowing what to do is only part of the challenge. Your plan is built to support implementation in real life, not perfect conditions.
03
Build confidence, not dependancy
Support can reduce as your knowledge and confidence grow. The goal is for you to feel capable of making routine food and health decisions more independently.

WHAT I HELP WITH
Metabolic issues rarely show
up as one neat symptom.
My approach looks at the full picture: nutrition structure, lifestyle demands, behaviour patterns, recovery, and physiology — then we prioritise what will move the needle first.
-
Stubborn weight gain over 5–10 years, slow progress despite effort, frequent restarts, and frustration that the old strategies no longer work.
-
Energy dips, brain fog, needing multiple coffees to function, and feeling flat or depleted by the end of the day.
-
Strong cravings after dinner, emotional eating under pressure, and a sense of losing control when the day has been demanding.
-
Difficulty falling asleep, waking often, early waking, or feeling unrefreshed — especially when stress is high.
-
When work, parenting, travel, shift patterns, or mental load makes it hard to maintain consistency — even with good intentions.
-
For those exploring or already using GLP-1 medications and wanting a structured lifestyle foundation to support sustainable outcomes and long-term capability.

Learn your metabolism
Stop guessing
If you’re tired of feeling like your body is fighting you…
You don’t need another reset, detox, or rigid set of rules. You need clarity, a plan that fits your life, and support long enough for the habits to become normal.

Meal Planning Guide
The supermarket isn’t a neutral environment. This is how to shop it with intention — and turn what’s in the trolley into meals you’ll actually cook.
- The three rules of shopping: whole foods first, ultra-processed by exception, protein before anything else
- Build the trolley in order — protein, then whole foods, then fill the gaps, not the trolley
- Build the plate — protein anchors, vegetables fill, with a practical structure for the rest
- Seven protein planning pillars — planning the fish, rotating proteins, and building in a flex meal
Six pages. Not a diet and not a meal plan — a system for the shop and the week.
